Accepting Applications

Basic qualifications:

  1. Must be 18 years of age
  2. Copy of birth certificate
  3. Provide a valid photo ID (ex. Driver’s License/State Issued ID)
  4. Have a high school diploma or GED with official transcripts.
  5. Must be able to prove you are eligible to work in the US.
  6. Be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program.
  7. Be able to pass pre-employment drug screening.

About the Program
An apprentice is a training-level employee who works in the building and construction trades while also attending classes to learn industry skills and safety techniques.

It is a 4-year program where wages for an apprentice increases over the course of training.

Wages
Staring at $27.30, once you are accepted in the program a scheduled wage increase will happen every six months.

Benefits
Benefits includes health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance and vision insurance along with a Pension and annuity.

Training
Our Training program is registered with the United States Department of Labor. You will experience hands on training as well as the ability to earn certifications.

Each apprentice will receive the following but not limited to, certifications.

  • OSHA and Subpart R
  • Scaff old User/Erector Dismantler
  • First aid/CPR/AED
  • History of ironwork
  • Blueprints
  • Reinforcing ironwork (rebar)
  • Welding, SMAW and FCAW
  • Structural steel
  • Architectural and Ornamental Ironwork
  • Rigging and signaling cranes
  • Layout instruments for ironworkers
  • Foreman training
  • Certifications for fall protection.

To keep our members the best, SAFEST, and most trained in our industry. Many classes are offered on nights and weekends to not interfere with your weekly earnings.
